Natuerlik Fryslân 2050- Natuur en landschap als basis voor een langetermijnvisie

Het landelijk gebied krijgt te maken met grote ruimtelijke transities. Opgaven ten aanzien van water, klimaat, energie, wonen, stikstof en biodiversiteit buitelen over elkaar heen, elk met hun eigen urgentie en ruimtelijke claims. Al die opgaven moeten een plaats krijgen in het landschap. Dat moet in samenhang, want niet alles kan overal. Voor de Friese natuur- en landschapsorganisaties aanleiding om een toekomstperspectief te bouwen dat helpt om keuzes te maken, met natuur en landschap als basis.

The rural areas in the Netherlands are facing major challenges in terms of water, climate, housing, nitrogen deposition and biodiversity, which require major transitions in the near future. These challenges are all urgent, have their own spatial claims, and are sometimes incompatible, which calls for a coherent regional vision for development. Frisian nature and landscape organizations felt the need to developed a joint vision (horizon 2050) on nature and landscape, on the basis of which they could enter into dialogue with other stakeholders: Natuerlik Fryslân 2050 as briefly presented in this paper. In this vision the regional soil and hydrological system is leading. Important goals are to reduce the emission of nutrients and to invest in a robust water system to adapt to weather extremes. Other guiding principles are the use of nature-based solutions, strengthening existing biodiversity and balancing the recreational pressure on nature areas.
